Role
IT: where does the information come from?
IT needs to know where the information comes from, where it goes, and whether it can be trusted and protected.
Questions and decisions
From question to evidence
Each question needs certain evidence to be answered. Together they lead to what the role needs afterwards.
IT asks
What is needed to answer
Afterwards
Question 1: "Where does the information come from?"
Needs: Data paths and formats
Question 2: "Where does it go?"
Needs: Connections to business systems and machines
Question 3: "What do operations and security look like?"
Needs: Permissions
Afterwards
Information that stays consistent between systems, and the ability to explain where a value comes from.
Situations
Where the questions arise
Each situation is described once. Here you see the question and the decision for this particular role.
Situation
The customer wants to see the requirement was met
Read about the situation"Where is the information, and is it connected?"
Decision: How the information should be stored and linked.
Situation
Quality work rests on a local system and a few key people
Read about the situation"What do operations, security and integrations look like in a new setup?"
Decision: Whether and how a change should be made.
Behind the questions
Where the information comes from and what it is used for
Each type of source sends its information in one direction: from the factory to the platform, where it is linked to part and order. Measuring machines (CMM) and gauges provide the measured values, machines and PLCs the status and stops, the business system the parts and orders.

In the factory
Rektron DAQ
Reads files, protocols and databases and passes the values on.
Cloud service
Rektron Eyesight
The values are linked to part, characteristic and order and used by every role in the browser.
Results per characteristic from the measuring program in the CMM or vision system.
Decision: Whether the part is accepted and whether the process needs adjusting (operator, quality).
The value from a digital gauge, right at the inspection.
Decision: Whether the part is accepted, right at the machine (operator).
Status, cycles and signals from machines, PLCs and sensors.
Decision: Where time is lost and what to deal with first (production, engineering).
Parts, orders and planning from the ERP system.
Decision: Which orders are affected by a deviation, and what can be shown per order (quality, production).
