About us
Interview with Peter Karlsson
Customer development manager at Rektron. 22 June 2022.
What is your view of this site visit, and of site visits in general?
The site visit is designed to orient potential and existing customers in our offering and what products, services, and applications we can deliver - all in the context of a real operation where production is running at full capacity when we visit.
I think site visits in general are extremely valuable. I work in Smaland, where the "Gnosjo spirit" of collaboration is well known. It is built on the idea that people have always worked together. Sharing experiences and seeing a real operation creates ideas and builds new networks. That is why, in my view, site visits are something very worthwhile.
What is the added value of a site visit?
For the visitor, the added value is having time to focus specifically on the questions they have expressed an interest in. You can view things through the lens of another business and understand how they think, which provides valuable insights.
If it is an internal company site visit, it is often an excellent opportunity to discuss things internally that you may not always get the chance to address when you are caught up in the day-to-day problems at home.
What do visitors take away from a site visit?
There are usually three main things. The first is how the experience seen during the visit can be related to the visitor's own internal process: what fits and what does not?
The second is new contacts that you can call and ask questions, whether that is us or the company we are visiting. We create a new network.
The third thing is clarity: a clear point of contact, knowing what the next step is, and how we can help with that step in the process.
What are the plans for the autumn? Is there strong interest in site visits?
During the autumn we plan to schedule further site visits, as demand has been very strong. These will of course be adapted to the current recommendations from the Public Health Authority.
